DIY: Herbal water

Icy cold lemon basil flavored water

Icy cold lemon basil flavored water

On a hot day, nothing is as refreshing as naturally flavored water! Just pinch back some of your favorite herbs and add them to icy cold water. One student said this lemon basil flavored water tasted like Fruit Loops! I only let the herbs soak for about half an hour before we sampled our drink. But the longer they sit, the stronger the flavor will be.

Citrus flavor is a great natural addition to water. Try putting some sprigs of lemon verbena, lemon balm, lemon or lime basil, lemon thyme for a great, fresh taste. You could also go the mint route, too!

Next week, my students and I are on break. A well deserved rest for all is in order.

Enjoy this beautiful weather!
